Sarah Mae and Her Kinfolk
Friday, 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM | Sanctuary
More Detail
It is the 1930’s and the family has gathered for a reunion that has its joys and challenges, like any family. Bein’s mountain folk, they deal with a passel of characters that bury moonshine in Mason jars in the flowerbeds, marry young, and built their own stills. Balance that against strong mountain faith, and a relative that was raised from the dead and you have the makin’s of one in’trestin’ reunion!

“Sarah Mae and Her Kinfolk” is an ensemble style family musical based in the hills of Tennessee. The music is well-known gospel favorites, from “I’ll Fly Away” and “Just A Little Talk with Jesus” to “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”

The musical will be performed March 13-15 and 19-22. Performance times are 7:30 PM for Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 PM for Saturdays and Sundays. Performances are held in our sanctuary.

A suggested donation of $7 is payable at the door. Children under 12 are $2.00, or free with the donation of a canned good. Free baby-sitting for preschoolers is available at all performances.

Seating is general admission and reservations are strongly encouraged, though seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors will open one hour prior to show time. Groups of 10 or more will be seated to the sides so they can be seated all together. New this spring is the change to what was once "overflow seating." Audiences seated there said the seats were fine and due to high attendance, these seats will now be counted as part of the main reserved seating. Reserved seats are held until 20 minutes prior to show time. Patrons without reservations on sold out nights may choose to wait and see if seats become available. To reserve a seat, visit our website at www.promiseplayers.org, or if needed, call the church office M-F from 8:30 - 2:30.

This musical will benefit Camp Andrews, a rustic, affordable camp whose vision and purpose is to introduce urban youth to Jesus and the Gospel. Our youth group regularly benefits from the use of this camp as well!
