Welcome

Whether you found us intentionally because someone recommended the site to you, or you are looking for a church home, or whether you stumbled across the site by accident, we are glad you are here. We are a “come as you are” kind of church that seeks to help everyone take their next steps with Jesus as we walk together to Know God, Love Others and Serve the World.

This site is like the front door to our ministry.  You can learn about some of our ministries, get the times for our services, see what is happening, and learn about our story.

We can't wait to meet you

Of course a church is much more than a website. So we don’t want you to stop here. Whether you're completely new to church or just haven't been to church for awhile, we'd love to see you.   We would enjoy having you come and visit with us.

We're glad you're here.

This service is designed for those people who appreciate the familiar, conventional corporate worship experience.

The first service is the more traditional of the two services we offer. The service starts with an organ prelude. Hymnals are provided for congregational singing of hymns, both familiar and unfamiliar. The message is regularly given by Pastor John Hostetter.

This service is designed for those people who appreciate an informal service filled with praise songs and modern accompaniment.

This is the more contemporary of the two services we offer. The sounds of acoustic, electric and bass guitars, drums, keyboard, piano, and various other instruments provide the music. The message is regularly given by Pastor John Hostetter.

Monday
Last year, nearly 90 families from the L-S District requested a meal through the Thanksgiving meal distribution hosted at our church. Again this year, Lampeter Church of the Brethren will organize and host the packing of food boxes and their distribution. This project is being coordinated by Michelle Holland, L-S School District Social Worker, Sherry Eshleman, and Bekah Bowland, with the help of the Strasburg and the Willow Street Ministeriums and L-S Community Closet. The school district also does a food drive to request all the non-perishable items needed for a meal (stuffing, veggies, potatoes, etc.).

You can be a part of this important distribution as well! On Monday, November 20th, we need two volunteers to deliver boxes to families who requested a meal but have no access to transportation. Another volunteer will also be needed in the morning to pick up the turkeys and desserts at Weis or Darrenkamp's prior to delivering the meal to the family. If you are interested in volunteering on either date, please let Bekah Bowland know through email at jbbowland@gmail.com, or via phone at (717) 368-3346.

The second way to assist is to make a donation toward the purchase of gift cards from Weis and Darrenkamp's for the meals. To provide each family with a Thanksgiving turkey and dessert, we are working with our community churches, and within our congregation, to raise $2,500. We have already raised $1,000 and would welcome your support as well. You may designate a financial gift, by writing a check to "Lampeter Church of the Brethren" earmarked for “Community Thanksgiving Meal Boxes.” We invite you to consider and participate in this opportunity to work with the school district and other area churches to serve those in need in our community. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask Sherry Eshleman or Bekah Bowland.
